Sarah Gayton

Street Access Campaign Coordinator , NFBUK
Sarah Gayton has worked with the National Federation of the Blind of the UK for the past 13 years raising concerns of street design, accessibility and safety. She has used film and social media to give blind and visually impaired people a voice to highlight the problems of street designs to a wide range of stakeholders. These have been shown them in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium and in the USA. Her back ground is in environmental protection and has worked in the UK and overseas in this field.

Sarah has organised many petitions to 10 Downing Street on street access issues and many events in Parliament to raise concerns over floating bus stops, resulting in the issue being covered on national, regional and local news on the TV, radio and in the written press. Sarah’s research into the Transport for London’s flag ship safety review on bus stop bypasses published in 2024 resulted in this report being withdrawn in January 2026 due to dodgy data being used in the analysis.
