Chris Chandler
Chris has been a high-profile Fleet Management Consultant for approaching 30 years and has always has had a strong focus on environmental fleet management and vehicle technologies. Pushing the agenda for cleaner vehicles and more sustainable transport has been at the heart of his time in the industry working with organisations such as The Energy Saving Trust, Go Ultra Low, OLEV-OZEV, HMRC and the BVRLA. In 2015 he won the Energy Saving Trust’s Green Fleet Hero Award, 2021 the BVRLA’s Industry Hero Award and in 2024 GreenFleet’s EV Champion Award.
At Lex Autolease, Chris set up the plug-in vehicle proposition which has resulted in Lex Autolease operating one of the largest alternatively fuelled fleets in the UK, and financed the first Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicle to operate in a UK fleet. He works closely with customers developing their transition to zero emission vehicles, and Chris is very proud to have been in the prestigious GreenFleet 100 (the industries 100 most influential people) since its’ inception, and is currently at number 24.
As well as providing strategic fleet support to Lex Autolease’s largest fleet customers in all areas of fleet operation, policy design, cost saving and sustainability, Chris is also the SME for electric vehicles and alternative fuels for Lloyds Transport which includes the Lex Autolease, Tusker and Black Horse brands. Lloyds Transport currently fund over 230,000 battery electric vehicles (BEV) in the UK (Jan 2026 across both fleet and retail markets. In 2025, Lloyds Transport funded 1 in 8 electric vehicles in the UK and one of its core strategies is the full decarbonisation of their funded fleet.
